Welcome to the flamingo construction zone! Our flock of American Flamingos in the Multinational Aviary have been hard at work building nests. Flamingos build nests by scooping up mud in their bills and adhering it to the sides and top of the mound until it reaches the desired height and size. Sticks, leaves, and feathers are sometimes included in the structure as well. Once finished, the female will lay a single egg on top of the mound.
