Jun 16, 2017 · Update: I order a Peacock Mantis from Blue Zoo and got an absolutely beautiful Peacock Mantis. I ordered a "Clown Mantis Shrimp" from LiveAquaria, which was listed with the scientific name for the Peacock Mantis (Odontodactylus scyllarus), and I got a Purple Spotted Mantis (Gonodactylus smithii) from them.

Nov 18, 2021 · I feed my mantis live crayfish, same as you, and I also feed littleneck clams and fresh shrimp as well. Having a variety of food like that helps. I feed 2x a week, recently switched to 3 days a week, but have noticed my mantis is not as interested in food when i add the extra day, and have gone back to feeding 2x a week.

Mar 12, 2017 · I’ve recently started using a feeding station for CBB and they all gather around it , mantis shrimp isn’t aggressive even next to the arrow crab / blenny / hermit crab / snails ect.. my dottyback will even push it sometimes. I think the constant feeding and turkey baster training has made the mantis docile . I don’t hear clicking anymore

I have an empty all glass 40b that is like to house a mantis in and I don't want to upgrade to acrylic.

Jul 25, 2019 · The theory is that an animal trained to find mantis shrimp for food will probably notice the mantis more easily and be aware of its location at all times. Also, the triggerfish will probably be aware of the threat the mantis shrimp poses since it must be able to make a judgment call whether or not it can take the mantis shrimp on as a prey item.
