The second set of logs were from a test file that successfully downloaded the Vanguard 401k transactions this morning.

In other words there are definitely people that are downloading their 401K from Vanguard so it is clear that it can be done, the question becomes then why isn't your 401K supported. You can call Vanguard, but I would bet they would just refer you back to your employer.

I have a 401K Vanguard account. I get paid twice per month on the 15th and EOM. Therefore, I make contributions twice per month which in turn generate purchase transactions twice a month. Quicken only downloads the transactions from the EOM activity, not the 15th. This has occurred every month since March 2021.

This has been ongoing for years in their 401k accounts. It is a Vanguard problem best I can tell as I could never find the transaction in the OFX log file. I moved my funds to an IRA because of this after I retired. I'm kind of surprised they have not stumbled on a fix by now.

A couple weeks ago Quicken decided the securities balances in a Vanguard 401k retirement account were incorrect. As of September 9 the holdings are A-ok, there's only one security in the account and the share balance is correct. September 10, it goes haywire, the holdings show placeholders that are basically messing up the account.
