Back in the early/mid 90s people used them to watch Video CD's, just like the Philips CD-i (even the 3DO and PS1 had VCD add-ons). I personally wouldn't rush out to buy one unless you collect old VCD movies. My Victor V-Saturn came with one already installed and the Hitachi Hi-Saturn usually comes with it too.

Dec 21, 2020 · The only way to experience Guardian Heroes and Radian Silvergun is either on the Sega Saturn or getting them on XBLA. So Saturn it is, because i don't give a shit about Xbox. The arcade ports of the games i mentioned are worth it because they're much better on Saturn thanks to additional exclusive content, some reworked graphics, etc.

Dec 11, 2022 · On PC and my main phone I use the Beetle Saturn Core in Retroarch. Mednafen is the most accurate Saturn emulator there is but the Retroarch core based on it is easier to use. Put the Beetle Saturn core and my actual Saturn in comparison on the same TV and the only way I'd be able to tell the difference is because I'd made the setup.

The Saturn port has all of the Arcade version's sprites -as well as animations- intact. The ps1 version has a weird problem with its screen refresh rate. The Saturn port does not. On the latter, the image quality is very stable. The ps1 version runs at roughly half the frame rate overall compared to the Saturn version.

Saturn is unplayable on the RG35xxH. But if Saturn is your thing, consider the Anbernic RG Arc-S. It plays most (not all) Saturn games very well, and the unit is shaped like a Saturn/Sega controller. Nice big screen, GREAT D-pad, 6 buttons. But no joysticks, so forget N64. And it's under $100. Search for a YouTube review to get a sense of it.
