Many school districts have closed Thursday, Jan. 23, as snowfall continues - particularly along the lakeshore - in a weeklong winter storm.

Dangerously cold temperatures have prompted hundreds of school districts across Southeast Michigan to close for Tuesday, with some also announcing closures for Wednesday. A cold weather advisory is in effect through Wednesday across the region.

As temperatures remain below zero, with the wind making it even colder, hundreds of Southeast Michigan schools are closed.
