When former President Jimmy Carter entered hospice nearly 23 months ago, Habitat for Humanity International contacted every chapter — the Greater Salt Lake area chapter included — and asked them to build ceremonial walls to honor their most famous volunteer upon his death.

The late President Jimmy Carter and his wife Rosalyn worked closely with Habitat for Humanity, building over 4,300 homes through the Carter Project. Their dedication inspired millions of people around the world and here at home to help create affordable housing for all.
