Microsoft is planning to combine its Xbox Game Pass and Xbox mobile apps into a single application soon. The software maker is testing a new version of the Xbox app for iOS and Android this week that includes features from the separate Xbox Game Pass app.

Rumors have been floated before about an Xbox portable console, but evidence is building that Microsoft may debut a Switch and Steam Deck competitor.

The Xbox and Xbox Game Pass mobile apps for Android and iOS are being streamlined. Many of the Xbox Game Pass app's functions are being added to the main Xbox app, while the Xbox Game Pass will no longer be available to download in November. This update will be rolling out to Xbox beta members first, and will be coming to all users soon after.

Xbox has confirmed the list of games from PlayStation's September State of Play that're also penned in to be coming to Microsoft consoles

Windows Central sources allege that Microsoft is now working on a traditional console that would follow-up the Xbox Series X and compete with the inevitable PS6, while at the same time developing the long-rumored Xbox handheld said to be the company's "own take on the Steam Deck."

Sony's PS6 will reportedly launch as two consoles according to a reliable leaker, potentially echoing Microsoft's approach to its latest Xbox consoles.
