The Boilermakers move up to No. 12 in Saturday's CBS Sports Top 25 And 1 after steamrolling over the Wolverines

FOX Sports national college basketball writer John Fanta reveals his latest top 25 rankings, with Michigan State and Purdue rising.

After blowing a 16-point lead in their last outing against Ohio State, No. 11 Purdue (16-5, 8-2) came into their home building with bad intent, and the Wolverines were their victims. The Boilermakers jumped to a 13-2 lead to start the game and never looked back, delivering a 91-64 beatdown of No. 21 Michigan (14-5, 6-2) on Friday night.

Purdue saw a 16-point first half lead against Ohio State vanish in a loss. Friday against Michigan, the Boilers kept pouring it on.

Goldin finished with 14 points and Nimari Burnett, Tre Donaldson and Roddy Gayle Jr. all scored 11 apiece for Michigan. The Wolverines shot 37% from the field, finished 6-for-29 from deep, and had more turnovers (22) than made baskets (20).

After struggling the past few weeks, the Michigan Wolverines had a big opportunity to not only rebound but thrive, going on the road to face No. 11 Purdue. However, Michigan basketball started out flat in West Lafayette, turning the ball over twice early and allowing the Boilermakers to jump out to a 6-0 lead.

Boilermakers point guard Braden Smith turned defense into offense on the first possession and fueled Purdue's bounce back win against Michigan.

"Sometimes these things happen," Michigan basketball coach Dusty May said. "We're going to learn from this and we've got a lot of basketball to play."
