A woman died in a fire that destroyed two homes early Friday morning in west Phoenix. At around 2 a.m. on Jan. 10, the Phoenix Fire Department responded to a structure fire near 83rd Avenue and Thomas Road.

PHOENIX — A woman has died after she was pulled from one of the homes involved in a double house fire early Friday morning, Phoenix fire officials said. According to an early report from the fire department, crews were called to a neighborhood near 83rd Avenue and Thomas Road around 2 a.m. They arrived to find both houses on fire.

An investigation is underway after a fire in the Laveen area of Phoenix left one person dead. FOX 10's Brian Webb has more.
