The war in Gaza began after Hamas led an attack on Israel in October 2023, killing nearly 1,200 Israelis. Another 250 people were taken hostage, according to Israeli officials. A number of civilians were injured following an Israeli strike on Abu Helo School, which shelters displaced Palestinians in the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza, causing panic among the displaced families, a medical source at Al-Awda Hospital said.
