The music of Big Star and the Grateful Dead will be celebrated in the coming months at the Germantown Performing Arts Center.

Big Star's last surviving member, Jody Stephens, will lead the Big Star Quintet on July 19. Don Was and the Pan-Detroit Ensemble will perform the Grateful Dead's "Blues for Allah" on Jan. 23.
