The Universal City-based theme park closure was first announced Tuesday as tens of thousands were told to evacuate after a brush fire erupted in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood near Los Angeles, which has since burned over 19,000 acres and is at 6% containment as of early Friday morning.

Legoland in Carlsbad will close at 7 p.m. as usual on Dec. 31, but will present early fireworks as part of its Kids' New Year's Eve. The fun will include live music and an early countdown toward 2025, according to legoland.com.

The ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles led to the closure of Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal CityWalk for safety reasons.
