Millions of Americans are gearing up to head to the airport or hit the highway for the first long weekend of the summer.

With Memorial Day just under two weeks away, people are already making plans to travel for the holiday. Current AAA estimates are saying there will be just under 40 million people traveling across the nation for Memorial Day weekend.

“While some travelers embark on dream vacations and fly hundreds of miles across the country, many families just pack up the car and drive to the beach or take a road trip to visit friends. Long holiday weekends are ideal for travel because many people have an extra day off work and students are off from school.”
