Facing Sinner reminded Alexander Zverev of trying to solve the challenge presented by the 24-time major champion Djokovic.

Since the start of 2024, Sinner has won three of the five major tournaments, including the U.S. Open in September.

Zverev looked and played more confidently in the second set, where Sinner showed some signs of strain, grabbing at his left hamstring, which also hobbled him in his semifinal win over Ben Shelton.
