Cases of whooping cough are on the rise across the U.S., including in Idaho. President Biden stood next to Gov. Gavin Newsom and pledged full federal support as fires burned through Los Angeles County. President-elect Donald Trump took to social media and blamed 'Newscum.'

The CDC said that cases of whooping cause increased across the United States, which indicated a return to more typical pre-COVID pandemic trends.

The C-D-C says whooping cough cases are the highest they've seen in a decade in the U-S. And we're not immune to the problem here in the Black Hills.

The respiratory illness starts out like a cold but the cough that comes with it can last for weeks or months. Young children are the highest risk of getting sick.
