Sources inform Shams Charania and Brian Windhorst of ESPN that the 6-foot-7 swingman out of Marquette hasn't budged on his behind-the-scenes request to be traded away from the Heat this year, after failing to come to terms on an extension agreement during the 2024 offseason.

The Miami Heat are in no way forced to part ways with veteran star Jimmy Butler at February's trade deadline. Still, it appears the route Miami's front office is eager to take. ESPN's Shams Charania reported on Saturday evening the Heat are looking to move the six-time All-Star forward "as soon as possible.

Following Jimmy Butler’s postgame comments where he indicated he would like to be traded from the team, the Miami Heat have suspended the star forward for seven games, adding that the team will consider trade offers for 14-year veteran.

The Miami Heat's veteran forward has requested a trade from the franchise and could be moved before the Feb. 6 trade deadline.

With Butler slated to leave Miami over the next month, the Heat-Butler era appears to be coming to an end after five and a half seasons. Over his stint in South Beach, Butler made two NBA All-Star teams and led the Heat to the NBA Finals twice.
