Google has stated to the source that more than 93% of maintained extensions in the Chrome Web Store use the new Manifest V3 model. That number includes other content filtering extension versions.

New versions of the Manifest file format change which features extensions have access to. For example, Manifest V3 in Chrome no longer allows a developer to load code from a remote server.

The browser is doing so as part of Google's plan to phase out older Manifest V2 extensions to bolster Chrome's security. Still, some uBlock Origin users aren't happy about the change.
