Purdue Pharma, the maker of the painkiller OxyContin, and its owners, the Sackler family, have agreed to a historic $7.4 billion settlement in a lawsuit stemming from the deadly toll of their drug.

The New York Jets and Aaron Glenn agreed to terms on making the Detroit Lions defensive coordinator their head coach on Wednesday, according to a person with knowledge of the hiring.

Aaron Glenn was hired to be their 19th full-time head coach on Wednesday. Glenn, who was the Jets’ first-round draft choice in 1994 and played eight seasons for the team, spent the past four years as the Lions defensive coordinator.

The Jets and Glenn agreed to terms Wednesday on making the Detroit Lions defensive coordinator their head coach. Glenn, who oversaw the Lions’ defense the past four seasons, beat out 15 other candidates for the job as the Jets went through an extensive search.
