The batteries were made in China under the Camel Battery brand and were used between February 5, 2020, and Oct. 20, 2022.
The 11th generation F-150, produced from 2004 to 2008, was known for issues with the 5.4L Triton V8 engine. Common complaints included spark plug ejection, rough idling, and stalling. The spark plug issue was particularly problematic because it often required extensive repairs to fix the damaged cylinder heads.
Under the rule, all vehicles traveling up to 45 miles per hour must apply brakes automatically when a pedestrian is detected. When traveling up to 62 mph, vehicles must 'stop and avoid contact' with other vehicles. At speeds of up to 90 mph, brakes must engage automatically 'when a collision with a lead vehicle is imminent.'
