A 51-year-old man died Monday after his pickup struck a guardrail and then a culvert on a dead-end road in McPherson County. The man was identified as Sam Dial of Newton, Kansas Highway Patrol crash logs show.

The KHP said troopers located a 2009 stolen Ford Focus traveling eastbound on the highway, and the vehicle and its occupant were being sought in connection with a homicide investigation in Anderson County.

A man sought in connection with a homicide in Anderson County was killed in a crash that occurred during a vehicle pursuit Friday night in Kiowa County in south-central Kansas, authorities said.

The Kiowa County Sheriff’s Office successfully deployed stop sticks on the fleeing vehicle at milepost 105. At 9:09 PM, the Ford left the road into the south ditch, impacted a field entrance, went airborne, and a rollover collision occurred. A loaded firearm was recovered from the crash scene.

A car crash in rural western Kansas early Sunday morning resulted in one fatality and another person sustaining serious injuries.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reports an Audi A6 was heading north at a high rate of speed and swerved to avoid another vehicle.
