The Pittsburgh Pirates have one of the best pitchers in baseball, but have done little to convince him to remain with them beyond his current contract.
For the fourth time this season, and first time since April 3rd, the Reds fell 1-0 Tuesday night to the Pirates in Pittsburgh.
The Pirates were not projected to be this bad. The Reds visit. Nick Martinez shut out the Blight Sox, but is 0-2 on the road. Pittsburgh’s Bailey Falter has given up one run in his past 20 innings at home.
The fan, 20-year-old Kavan Markwood, fell from the bleachers onto the field during the seventh inning of the Pirates-Cubs game on April 20, officials said.
The Pirates (16-33) finally broke a scoreless tie in the bottom of the sixth inning when Bryan Reynolds ripped a single through the right side to plate Oneil Cruz from second. The run was all Falter (3-3) needed to earn his third victory of the season.
