After antisemitic attacks in Amsterdam, billionaire Bill Ackman called on Universal Music to delist from the city; UMG says he doesn't have that right.

The hedge-fund billionaire said he wanted to terminate the Amsterdam listings of Pershing Square Holdings and Universal Music Group after violence in the Dutch capital that authorities called antisemitic attacks.

Universal Music board member Bill Ackman says he wants the major to move its stock market listing from Amsterdam to New York. Although prompted by unrest in Amsterdam last Thursday, he argues there are sound business reasons to move the listing.

Billionaire Bill Ackman said on Friday he would seek to delist investment firm Pershing Square Holdings and move record label Universal Music Group away from Amsterdam, following attacks on Israeli soccer fans.

Universal Music Group (OTCPK:UMGNF) (OTCPK:UNVGY) said on Saturday that Bill Ackman's Pershing Square (OTCPK:PSHZF) does not have the right to require the company to become U.S. domiciled or to delist from Euronext Amsterdam.
