ORLANDO, Fla. – An area of low pressure could develop over the weekend in the western Caribbean. Gradual development will then be possible as the system moves to the north. It is too early to tell whether this area will impact Florida. However, tropical development appears likely with this eventual disturbance.

A large but weak storm spinning in the Caribbean has potential to develop by the weekend, according to the National Hurricane Center.

A large, slowly-spinning system across the northern Caribbean and southern Gulf of Mexico could develop into something serious, forecasters said.
