Even Mike Trout himself has been forced to acknowledge his new reality. Whatever optimism he feels in the wake of a new injury — such as the left knee bone bruise that currently has him on the Angels' 10-day injured list — Trout must at the same time acknowledge that he's a slow healer.

Trout officially hit the injured list on May 2, and just three days later, Jim Bowden of The Athletic proposed a hypothetical trade for LA that includes a different outfielder. The deal would send right-handed slugger Jorge Soler to the Kansas City Royals in exchange for pitching prospect Ben Kudrna.
