A couple of AL playoff contenders open up a three-game series on Friday, July 11 with the Seattle Mariners visiting the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park in Detroit.

The left fielder will be in his second career All-Star Game as a replacement for his teammate, Julio Rodriguez.

Randy Arozarena earned a spot in Atlanta today after Seattle's replacement of a rehabbing Julio Rodriguez, marking the second All-Star bid for Arozarena. The left fielder has 15 home runs and 44 RBIs, including seven homers in his last 10 games.

He made three appearances before he was optioned to Tacoma on April 5. He was recalled for one appearance April 26 and optioned back down to the Rainiers and placed on the 7-day injured list a day later with a left lat strain.

Center fielder Julio Rodriguez is in his fourth major-league season after making his Seattle Mariners debut in 2022. Rodriguez had an electric rookie season, taking home the American League Rookie of the Year award, finishing seventh in AL MVP voting, making his first All-Star Game and winning his first Silver Slugger.
