A vehicle hit and killed a man riding a bicycle on the Interstate 549 overpass on Fort Smith Friday morning, according to a new release sent by the Fort Smith Department.

Fort Smith police have arrested a man in connection with the September 7 hit-and-run accident that injured a pedestrian.

FORT SMITH -- A bicyclist was killed Friday after being struck by a vehicle on Roberts Boulevard. Stephen E. Hobbs, 68, was riding his bicycle east on Roberts Boulevard around 7:30 a.m. Friday when he was struck by a vehicle that was traveling the same direction, according to a news release from the Fort Smith Police Department.
