The second atmospheric river in a pair of storms will bring more rain and cooler temperatures to the Los Angeles area.

An atmospheric river has made its way to Southern California, bringing rain to the region. With rain soaking Los Angeles County on Wednesday, areas badly hit by the Jan. 2025 wildfires must brace for possible flooding and mudslides.

The wet weather will bring relief to Southern California after a prolonged period of dryness, but there’s concern that any bursts of heavy rainfall could cause flooding.

Another storm will come in off the Pacific on Thursday and spread widespread rain and mountain snow throughout California through Friday. This is expected to be a pretty dynamic system supporting a short duration period of moderate to heavy rain.
