Bangladesh have slumped to a crushing 99-run defeat, handing Sri Lanka a 2–1 series win in the final ODI. A superb hundred from Kusal Mendis has set the tone, before the visitors’ top order folded without a fight. The series decider, held at Pallekele on Tuesday, saw Sri Lanka post 285 for 7 after opting to bat first.

Kusal Mendis smashed his sixth ODI hundred and led Sri Lanka to a commanding 99-run victory in the third and final one-day international as the home team clinched the series 2-1. Mendis marshaled Sri Lanka to 285-7 with an aggressive 124 off 114 balls after captain Charith Asalanka won the toss and elected to bat.

Bangladesh seek an improved performance in a bid to bounce back into the winning way as they gear up for a three-match T20 International series against Sri Lanka.  The first T20 will be held tomorrow (Thursday) at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy.
