The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit on Friday ruled against the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, which grants amnesty to illegal immigrants who arrived in the U.S.

A federal appeals court on Friday dealt the immigration program known as DACA a legal setback, keeping the program alive but teeing up a showdown at the Supreme Court.

But the judges stayed their ruling and for now, hundreds of thousands of DACA recipients will continue to have protection from deportation.
