Several players on the Tampa Bay Rays did not wear LGBTQ logos on their uniforms for the team’s Pride Night celebration during Saturday’s game against the Chicago White Sox.

With their minds on their fallen teammate, the Rays say the loss is just a product of a missed pitch and some scoring chances.

In celebration of Pride Month, almost all of the players on the Tampa Bay Rays sported jerseys and caps with the rainbow-colored Pride logo. Five Rays pitchers declined, citing religious reasons.

The Rays uniform incorporates neon colors reminiscent of the team’s vintage Devil Rays jerseys. For the first time since 2007, “Tampa Bay” adorns the front of the uniform.
