The team's new lineup put together a promising stretch. George sealed a stop with a block on John Collins and the Sixers scored on their ensuing possession with a Grimes three. Maxey knocked down a mid-range jumper to cut the Clippers' lead to 64-61.
McCain did make his return for the Sixers on Nov. 4, and played three games in total, but he was unable to find a rhythm so the team decided a stint with the Delaware Blue Coats would do him some good. He had a few good moments while in Delaware and is looking to get back to himself.
The Sixers will be trying to bounce back against the struggling Clippers, as Paul George could be set to make his season debut.
