If you are interested in the chance to catch an eye-popping trout, Pyramid Lake opens its 2007-2008 Lahontan cutthroat fishing season on Monday, Oct. 1, and will remain open until next June 30.

Lahontan cutthroat are Nevada’s state fish. At Pyramid Lake, 5-pound trout (pictured) are an everyday occurrence, 10-pounders are not uncommon, and true giants over 20 pounds are caught every year!
