The Maple Leafs are off to the second round of the playoffs. It just took a little longer than they would have liked. Max Pacioretty scored the winner with 5:39 left in regulation as Toronto beat the Ottawa Senators 4-2 to win the teams’ first-round playoff series 4-2 on Thursday.

Woll last played on April 17, making 31 saves in a 4-3 win over the Detroit Red Wings in the final game of the regular season. In Woll’s absence on Monday, Marlies goalie Artur Akhtyamov took the brunt of the team’s shots toward the end of practice.

The loss means the Maple Leafs are 1-13 in postseason games where they could eliminate an opponent since Matthews, Marner and William Nylander started playing together in 2016 -- 1-12 since John Tavares signed a seven-year, $77 million contract July 1, 2018, the center missing three of those games with an injury.
