LAKE GENEVA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A favorite summertime tradition in southeast Wisconsin returns. The Lake Geneva mail boat jumping tryouts took place Wednesday morning, June 9.

Teens are literally jumping at the chance to make special deliveries as mail boat jumpers -- a Lake Geneva tradition more than 100 years old. The 12 teens are trying out for six coveted spots.

Lake Geneva Cruise Line only keeps six jumpers for the season. What makes today unique and extra special the Lake Geneva Cruise Line is celebrating 100 years of delivering mail around the lake.

The only mail delivery in the country that uses teens and college students who jump back and forth from boats is nearing its 100th summer.

The mail boat will be celebrating its 100th anniversary this summer. And a group is organizing a reunion of former mail jumpers and boat captains.
