Dense fog advisory extended until 3 pm, shifts to northeast Kansas
Lyon, Coffey, Osage and Wabaunsee counties are in a dense fog advisory until 3 pm. Lyon, Chase, Coffey, Greenwood and Morris counties had been in an advisory earlier Thursday. The National Weather Service still expects rain through Thursday night. Up to 1.5 inches of rain is expected.
Weather alert for fog and drizzle in the Kansas City area until Thursday midday
The National Weather Service issued a report at 8 a.m. on Thursday for fog and drizzle until 11 a.m. The alert is for Miami, Linn, Leavenworth, Wyandotte, Johnson, Jackson, Lafayette, Cass, Pettis, Bates and Henry counties.
A storm is expected later this week, but instead of snow, the Kansas City area will experience rain due to the arrival of warmer temperatures, according to the National Weather Service in Kansas City.
