John Lennon was often very critical of his work with The Beatles, but he always maintained that 'Come Together' was one of his finest efforts with the band.

Their contrasting approaches, moods and styles often met in the middle to create magic. In the early days of The Beatles, Paul and John would write together at Paul's family home on Forthlin Road in Allerton but as they got older and their styles evolved, they tended to write independently and then present a song to the other for tweaks.
