Republican U.S. Rep. Don Bacon of Nebraska has announced he will not seek reelection next year. The 61-year-old Bacon announced Monday that he would not seek a sixth term in the U.S.

Congressman Don Bacon said he will not seek re-election in the House in 2026. Though he he said he could still win his seat for a sixth term if he wanted, saying he has the support but that his main motivation for not seeking re-election comes from wanting to spend more time with his family.

Rep. Don Bacon (R-Neb.) announced Monday he will not seek reelection next year in his key battleground district, leaving a House Republican seat vulnerable.
