JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) — High school football playoffs are underway in Mississippi. Classes 1A through 4A began playoff games on Nov. 8, and classes 5A through 7A begin on Nov. 15.

PINE BELT, Miss. (WDAM) - High school football playoffs involving Pine Belt teams will ratchet up a notch Friday. For the first time, the larger schools under the Mississippi High School Activities Association umbrella _ Class 7A, Class 6A and Class 5A _ will take their first steps onto the field of postseason play Friday night.
