ECORSE, MI -- Law enforcement executing a search warrant Tuesday encountered a different type of scale than what they expected to as an alligator was found living at the home. Michigan State Police didn’t provide much information regarding the alligator other than to say it was turned over to a local animal shelter.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Michigan State Police say they found a surprise guest during a drug bust this week: an alligator. The agency’s Metro Narcotics Enforcement Team executed a search warrant Tuesday at a home in Detroit’s Downriver region. They expected to find drugs, but not the reptile. It was turned over to a local animal shelter.

WAYNE COUNTY, Mich. (WJRT) - Michigan State Police found an alligator during a drug bust in Wayne County on Tuesday. Police say that more than 500 grams of methamphetamine, 10 grams of heroin, six grams of cocaine, more than 370 grams of various pills, nine firearms and an alligator were all found during the drug bust.

The weirdest thing they found was an alligator. Police said they turned the recovered reptile over to a local animal shelter. Detectives from the Metro Narcotics Enforcement Team recovered more than 500 grams of methamphetamine, 10 grams of heroin, six grams of cocaine and 371 grams of various pills, including oxycodone.
