Blue Ghost is in the midst of spending an entire lunar day on the surface of the Moon, or the equivalent of 14 days on Earth.

Blue Ghost aced its lunar landing attempt on March 2, touching down near Mons Latreille, a solitary lunar peak in the vast basin Mare Crisium ("Sea of Crises") in the northeastern region of the moon 's near side. The spacecraft quickly got to work on its science objectives, including taking a stunning image on the lunar sunrise.

Blue Ghost conducted the DOI on the far side of the Moon, which caused a communications blackout with Earth. The spacecraft was on the correct flight path when communications with Blue Ghost resumed around 20 minutes after the burn, and the lander coasted for around 30 minutes until it reached an altitude of roughly 20 km over the lunar surface.
