The Texas Rangers are investigating a shooting involving a Kaufman County sheriff's deputy and a driver they say tried to run from a traffic stop.

The incident started sometime Tuesday morning along U.S. 175 in the Crandall area, according to a 6:30 a.m. update from the Kaufman County Sheriff's Office.

KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas (KLTV) - A Kaufman County pursuit came to an end after a suspect was shot during a foot chase. According to the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office, the incident began after an attempted traffic stop on US 175 led to a car chase. The car chase ended in Crandall before the suspect began to run away, according to the release.
