In the AI chatbot world, ubiquity is everything. Companies have raced to build desktop and mobile apps for their bots, in order to both give them new capabilities but also to make sure they’re right in front of your face as often as possible.

Alphabet's Google on Thursday released a smartphone app for its artificial intelligence chatbot on Apple's App Store that introduced the latest generation of its voice assistant to the popular mobile operating system.

The iPhone is getting its own Gemini app from Google today. The new AI assistant app is available for free right away. Since Apple limits almost everything that 3rd party apps can do on an iPhone and in iOS,
