NEW YORK -- Gavin Newsom hosts President Donald Trump's allies on his podcast. He's pushing city officials to crack down on homeless encampments. And this week, he proposed limiting health care coverage for immigrants in the country illegally.

His administration said it would attempt to reach savings through negotiations with the state’s bargaining units before imposing reductions.

On Monday, California Gov. Gavin Newsom released a plan to remove homeless individuals from the street with a new directive for cities, towns and counties to ban tent camping on sidewalks and in parks.
