If you are going in summer I would definitely buy tickets in advance. Less busy days are generally Monday and Tuesday - just check the opening days as some chateaus close on particular days. I would also plan my visit as early in the morning as possible as there are generally less crowds first thing in the morning. Enjoy !

Bonjour Madame, vous avez la possibilité de déjeuner dans 3 restaurants au château de Chambord. L'un se trouve à l'intérieur du château. Je pense que même en réservant à l'avance, le temps d'attente peut être long. Sans réservation, il y avait pour moi trois quarts d'heure d'attente. Les deux autres à l'extérieur du château mais à deux minutes à pied sont moins fréquentés mais tout aussi bons. Comme c'est les vacances scolaires, je vous conseille de réserver votre table à l'avance dans l'un des 3 restaurants par téléphone ou par internet. Je vous conseillerais plutôt le téléphone plus chaleureux et tout aussi efficace. Bonnes vacances à Chambord et profitez bien de votre visite. Bien à vous. Elodie
